Death
2 December 1888, Hendre-bachO+, Abergele, Denbighshire, Wales, United KingdomO A large circle of our readers will join in our regret on learning* of the death of Mr James Kerfoot, one of the largest and best known farmers in the Vale of Clwyd. The sad event occurred on Sunday, from an attack of paralysis. The deceased was son of the late Mr James Kerfoot of Vaenol Bach, and brother to Mr John Kerfoot, the present occupier of that farm. He was also the brother-in-law to Mr Edward Roberts, solicitor, Rhyl, Mr William Bell, Bodrhyddan, the late Mr W. M Clarke, Kinmel. Mr Kerfoot was highly respected by all who knew him. This fact was fully testified by the large concourse that gathered pay the last tribute of respect to their departed friend, on Wednesday. About forty carriages were included in the mournful courage that escorted the remains to the place internment - the Parish Church of Saint George. The coffin, which was of polished oak with heavy brass furniture was literally covered with wreaths. The Rector of St. George conducted the service in a very impressive manner. Deceased leaves a widow, but no family.
